Nov 16, 2009, Dubai, UAE – Source: APR – The chairman of Emirates airline says the Dubai-based carrier is in talks with Boeing and Airbus for additional planes.

Sheik Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum says the carrier is considering purchases of Boeings 777s and Airbus A330s. He did not give details on the size of the possible orders but said it would be “tens'' of aircraft.
Sheik Ahmed made the comments on Monday, the second day of the Dubai Airshow.

But it's unclear whether any deal will be announced during the weeklong event. Emirates has the world's biggest 777 fleet. He also says Dubai expects to issue a second round of bonds worth $10 billion by the end of the year. The once-booming emirate has been burdened by huge debt from the global economic downturn.
