The Finnish airline says the move will also mean closing down its engine servicing operations and reorganizing the components division that together employ 350 people.

Wednesday's announcement follows last month's plans by the Finnish national carrier to sell its catering operations to a subsidiary of German airline Lufthansa with a transfer of 650 personnel.

The national carrier is struggling against fiercely competitive budget airlines and has set a target to cut annual costs by C140 million ($185 million) by 2014.
