Security seals are used for securing trailers, containers,

dangerous goods to LTL cargo, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and

Labelmaster recently conducted a survey among its customers
using security seals and found that the majority use plastic, metal,
and bolt seals to secure trailers, containers, and tankers.
Tamper-evidence and tamper-resistance are the most important features
cited. Also, customers indicated that 34% utilize indicative security
seals (class 3), 28% utilize barrier security seals (class 2), and 19%
high barrier security seals (class 1).
More specifically, customers identified that regulatory
compliance is the most important factor when selecting security seals.
Customers quantified the regulatory measures needed the most as:
• 26% of customers needed C-TPAT (Customs Trade Partnerships against Terrorism)
• 21% CSA (Customs Self Assessment)
• 21% FAST (Free and Secure Trade)
