Airport spokeswoman Jennifer Delorey Lyon says flights couldn't get in or out Sunday because a piece of pavement came loose in the middle of the runway in use.

The damaged section was estimated to be five to 10 centimetres deep and 36 centimetres by 48 centimetres in size.

Delorey Lyon says a paving crew was quickly dispatched to make the repair and the airport resumed full operations.

Travellers however, were being advised to check with their airline for delays or cancellations related to Sunday's logjam.
