Montreal’s CAE wins $50 million SIM contract

Dec. 14, 2011, Montreal - CAE Inc. says it has won four new simulator and pilot training equipment contracts worth more than $50 million.

The customers for various airplane flight trainers are European aircraft manufacturer ATR, Ethiopian Airlines and Shanghai Eastern Flight Training Centre, a unit of China Eastern Airlines.

CAE also said Wednesday it received contracts for training devices and for simulator update services from several airlines.

"These contracts are from customers based in three continents and reflect the range of solutions CAE can offer to aircraft manufacturers developing new aircraft, new airline customers expanding their fleets in emerging markets, and flight training organizations increasing capacity to address customer growth
requirements," said Jeff Roberts, CAE's president of civil aviation products, training and services.

CAE is a global leader in modelling, simulation and training for civil aviation and defence. The Montreal company has a workforce of more than 7,500 people  around the world.
