Passenger traffic way up in Newfoundland

Aug. 11, 2011, Deer Lake, N.L. - An airport in western Newfoundland is reporting its busiest month ever for passenger traffic.

Deer Lake Airport chief executive Jamie Schwartz says more than 37,000 passengers came through the facility in July.

The figure represents an increase of nearly 13 per cent over July 2010.

The previous monthly record for the airport was in July 2008 with over 36,000 passengers.
