Torchbearer selected for the Olympic Flame

Dec. 17, 2009, Mississauga, Ont. – Ajay Virmani has been selected as an international torchbearer for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Torch Relay presented by Coca-Cola and RBC and supported by the Government of Canada. Ajay will carry the torch on behalf of Team Cargojet on Catharine St. South to the National Car Rental on Main Street in Hamilton, on Sunday, December 20th at 7:30A.

"I am honoured and privileged to have been selected as an official torchbearer for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games," says Ajay K. Virmani. "Running with the Olympic Flame in Hamilton, the home of our hub, gives me an opportunity to be part of something really special and I am proud to have been selected. The torch represents a symbol of freedom, peace and global friendship, and I am very proud to be part of this special event."

The Vancouver Organizing Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC), in collaboration with the Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), has selected international torchbearers to participate in the 2010 Olympic Torch Relay International Media Program to maximize international media coverage of the relay and spread the excitement and Olympic spirit around the world.
