Transport Canada reinstates Missinippi Airways
Nov. 21, 2011, Winnipeg - Transport Canada has reinstated a Manitoba airline's air operator certificate after suspending it in late October over safety concerns.
November 21, 2011 By The Canadian Press
Today's move came after Missinippi Airways agreed to what the federal regulator called a "corrective action plan" that addresses previously identified deficiencies.
The agency says the reinstatement is effective immediately, but it will closely monitor the airline to verify the actions are effective.
The monitoring will include regular and no-notice inspections.
The airline's certificate was previously suspended in July when a man was killed in an airplane accident in Pukatawagan, some 800 kilometres north of Winnipeg.
It was only reissued in September.
