Dec. 9, 2009 – An ultralight plane made an emergency landing on a highway in northern Ontario, fixed the problem and then took off again.

Provincial police say the single engine advanced ultralight plane landed safely on Highway 11, about 20 kilometres north of North Bay, after the two occupants noticed they were losing fuel.

The problem was fixed at the roadside.

After consultation with Transport Canada, officers closed the highway, allowing the plane to take off again and proceed to the North Bay Airport safely.
