Airports Canada 2013 event set for April in Montreal
Jan. 28, 2013, Ottawa - The Canadian Airports Council today unveiled the agenda for its Airports Canada 2013 Conference & Exhibition, at which Canada's top aviation leaders and industry experts will gather in Montreal from April 10-12.

Airports Canada 2013, Canada's largest airports conference, is attended by more than 200 top chief executives and officials from airports, air carriers, and the tourism industry, as well as vendor partners and government. The two-day event is an opportunity for key decision-makers to come together to share ideas, and to get the latest intelligence on developments in Canada's aviation sector.
"Canada's aviation industry is at an important point in its development. As we continue supporting growth in passenger and cargo traffic domestically and in the U.S., many of the greatest opportunities for growth are from key developing and emerging international markets," said CAC chairman, Tom Ruth. "The Airports Canada Conference is the platform for Canada's aviation leaders to discuss the opportunities that lie ahead for our industry as we set out to capture Canada's fair share of the growing international air traffic market."
Airports Canada 2013 will feature the following panels and sessions:
- 'Canada's Aviation Sector in the World Context: By the Numbers' will highlight current developments and anticipated trends.
- 'Canada's Aviation Opportunity' will showcase what Canada's airports envision for the air transport needs of Canadatomorrow.
- Chief executives from Air Canada and WestJet will talk about what's new, what's coming, and what it means for Canada's airports in a session titled 'Canada's Airlines at the Dawn of a New Era'.
- 'The Challenges of Growth, the Growth of Challenges' offers three Canadian airports the opportunity to share their unique perspectives of growth amid modern environmental challenges, the rapid rise of an intra-urban airport and the impacts of energy-filled growth in Alberta's "boom town".
- 'The Friends and Neighbours' headlines business aviation, cargo, military operations and aerospace manufacturing segments of the airport community.
- Passengers interact with airports, air carriers, government agencies, and food and beverage vendors in the curb-to-plane experience. This panel will talk about how interrelated these segments are in the quest to ever improve the air travel experience in a session titled 'Partners in the Passenger Chain'.
