Bombardier completed the expansion of its London Biggin Hill Service Centre, claiming it to be the largest business jet Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) facility in the UK, occupying close to 250,000 square feet.

Located at London Biggin Hill Airport, the expanded service centre includes a range of new maintenance and modification capabilities, additional hangar space, and interior finishing for Learjet, Challenger and Global aircraft. Bombardier’s Biggin Hill facility also includes services like heavy maintenance, wheel and battery shops, and component paint shop, among others.

Bombardier’s new Biggin Hill hangar expansion increases space from eight to 22 service bays, which can accommodate up to 14 Global 7500 aircraft at one time. Bombardier also announced JETEX as its preferred FBO provider at the London Biggin location.

“The European market is a very important one for Bombardier and this expansion perfectly underscores our ongoing commitment to the region,” said Jean-Christophe Gallagher, Executive Vice President, Services and Support, and Corporate Strategy, Bombardier.

First opened in 2017, the London Biggin Hill Service Centre expansion will bring the facility’s workforce to more than 250 employees. Bombardier notes London Biggin Hill Airport is home to more than 70 aerospace companies that hold more than 1,300 jobs.
