Cargojet appoints co-CEOs in leadership transition

Mississauga, Ont.-based cargo airline Cargojet Inc. has named Pauline Dhillon and Jamie Porteous as co-CEOs and Dr. Ajay Virmani as executive chairman, all effective Jan. 1, 2024.

Dhillon currently serves as chief corporate officer, Porteous currently serves as chief strategy officer, and Virmani currently serves as CEO.

In a Nov. 13 news release, officials with Cargojet noted that both Dhillon and Porteous are both founding members of the company, which was founded by Virmani in 2001.

“We are pleased to announce the appointment of Pauline Dhillon and Jamie Porteous as co-CEOs of Cargojet,” Virmani said in the release. “Their complementary skillset, long-standing dedication to our organization along with unwavering focus on our team, customers, and stakeholders makes them the ideal strategic successors to lead us into a new era of innovation and growth while continuing to provide a seamless service to our customers.”

Cargojet says it carries over 25,000,000 pounds of cargo weekly, and operates with a fleet of over 40 aircraft.
