Dilley named new president of Hawkair

July 16, 2013, Terrace, B.C. - The board of directors of Hawkair have concluded its executive search as part of a planned leadership transition. After almost 20 years of leading the company, Rod Hayward a co-founder of Hawkair, is leaving the firm to join the University of the Fraser Valley.

"Rod has guided Hawkair and its employees during some turbulent times and through periods of tremendous growth. His focus on safety, building strong relationships with our people, the community and on smartly growing the company's route network has shaped the growth and direction of the company with great success " said Doug McCrea Director of Hawkair. The Board thanks Rod for his many years of dedicated service and his leadership throughout.

The Board of Directors has appointed Jay Dilley to the role of president and accountable executive effective July 15. "Jay brings a tremendous range of experience in leadership positions within the Aviation Industry. The Board is confident in Jay's ability to build on the legacy of success Rod is leaving; he has the right skills, experience and values." said Lindsay Clougher Director of Hawkair.

Prior to joining Hawkair he was the vice president of business services for Summit Air where he was responsible for developing business strategy and optimizing performance through global business service delivery. He also spent the past eight years holding leadership positions with Arctic Sunwest Charters.  Jay holds an Honours Bachelor of commerce in finance and economics, and a Master of Science in management.
