Landmark Aviation appoints Michel Menard

Jan. 14, 2008, Winnipeg – Standard Aero and Landmark Aviation, DAE Engineering companies, have announced the appointment of a new VP & general manager for the Landmark Aviation Springfield, Ill., operation.

“As an expert in operational improvements, quality initiatives, ISO operating standards and overall aviation management, Mike Ménard is an outstanding new leader for our Springfield operation,” said Harvey Ticlo, Standard Aero Senior Vice President.  “Mike will work closely with new and existing customers to ensure their satisfaction, a high level of work quality, on-time deliveries, and full compliance with all FAA and international work standards and scopes.”

Most recently, Menard was Divisional Director of Engineering, Quality & Operations for Standard Aero’s Enterprise Services business unit in San Antonio.  He led the business through ISO9001-2000 certification, including development of a new management operating system.
Prior to that, he was Vice President of Engineering & Quality Assurance for the Standard Aero Energy Division, where he built a long-term business development plan for the new division as well as managed acquisitions.

Before that, Menard was responsible for leading engineering and quality in Standard Aero’s International Division, providing MRO services for PW100, RR250, and PT6 engine programs in Europe, Singapore and Australia.
He previously led Standard Aero’s $11 million capital project to expand and redesign the Maryville, Tenn., operation, a project that involved the redesign and expansion of the facility to double its existing size.

He earlier worked at Standard Aero’s Winnipeg facility as Director of Engineering in the PT6 Business Unit.

Menard joined Standard Aero from the Canadian Air Force’s National Defense Headquarters in Ottawa, where he was Deputy Aircraft Engineering Officer responsible for the CT114 Tutor fleet, including the continued airworthiness of the engines, airframes and
avionics.  He holds a private pilot’s license since 1992.

Menard received a bachelor of mechanical engineering degree from the Royal Military College of Canada.
