Second World War Harvard to touch down in Edmonton
It’s a little known story that 8,000 U.S. military planes flew over Alberta while travelling from Montana to Russia to be used by Russian pilots to help defeat the Nazis during the Second World War.

On the 70th anniversary of the end of the war, what once was a tightly held secret is drawing attention with a re-creation of the 9,600-km Alaskan-Siberian air route.
A restored 72-year-old North American T-6 Texan aircraft (known as a Harvard in Canada), used for the flight, is one of 54 such planes originally ferried across between 1942 and 1945, says pilot Jeff Geer, 57. | READ MORE
