Jan. 10, 2014, Saskatoon - There were no injuries when a Jazz flight arriving in Saskatoon from Calgary slid off the runway.

Jazz Aviation spokeswoman Debra Williams says the approach and
landing at the supper hour on Thursday evening went normally, but the
aircraft slid on ice while taxiing to the gate and ended up in a
snow-covered area.

Williams says the 52 passengers on board the flight, identified on
the airport's website as Air Canada flight 8588, were transported to the
terminal building by bus.

She says initial reports indicate no damage to the aircraft, but she
says maintenance personnel will be onsite to do a thorough inspection.

Stephen Maybury, CEO of the airport authority, said he could give no
details about what had caused the aircraft to go off the runway, but
said the runway had been closed, resulting in some other flight
cancellations and delays.

Jazz is a partner airline to Air Canada.
