Quebec charter stops flying operations
Quebec charter airline Aeropro has ceased flying and laid off about 100 employees.

August 16, 2010  By The Canadian Press

August 16, 2010, Quebec City – Quebec charter airline Aeropro has ceased flying and laid off about 100 employees.

The move follows a failed bid by the airline to stop Transport Canada from revoking its operating permit.

Transport Canada withdrew the permit shortly after an Aeropro plane crashed on June 23 and killed seven people on board.

The Quebec City-based company argued Transport Canada acted without warning and without giving it a chance to correct its problems.

Aeropro says it will drop further legal proceedings.

Aeropro will continue to manage some airports and meteorological services with its 10 or so remaining employees.
