StandardAero appoints McGowan to lead BizAv sector

Sept. 16, 2013, Tempe, Az. - StandardAero has appointed Marc McGowan as Senior Vice President of StandardAero’s Business Aviation Sector, succeeding Scott Taylor who is retiring from the Company.

“I am confident in Marc’s ability to quickly and seamlessly lead our Business Aviation team,” said Firoz Tarapore, Interim President & CEO, StandardAero.  “Marc has extensive experience in many aerospace and aviation segments and has very broad and deep knowledge and relationships in the business aviation industry.”

McGowan joined StandardAero in June, 2011 and previously served as Vice President of Business Development and Strategy for Business Aviation.  Prior to joining the company, he served in a wide range of senior leadership positions for Honeywell Aerospace.

In addition to his civilian career, McGowan served 28 years in the U.S. Navy as a commissioned Naval Flight Officer and Naval Reserve Officer.  As a Naval Flight Officer, he has accumulated over 2,500 flight hours and 300 carrier-arrested landings in five aircraft types.  He has also served as the Commanding Officer of two Reserve Augment Units, and retired at the rank of Captain.

McGowan holds a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach and a Master of Business Administration from Oregon State University.
