Of the 976 Canadian consumers surveyed, 63.5 per cent said WestJet has the best flight attendants of any Canadian airline. Over 90 per cent of respondents identified "a good attitude" as being the most important attribute for a flight attendant, followed by "friendliness" and "a quick response."

"Our WestJetters continue to be a driving force behind our success," said Tyson Matheson, WestJet Vice-President, People Relations, Inflight and Culture. "This is a particularly tremendous honour for our nearly 2,400 fabulous flight attendants who work hard and always strive to deliver a great guest experience. And, by the way, we think they're the best, too!"

The results are contained in the annual State of Air Travel Poll which was conducted by FlightNetwork.com between October 20 and November 1, 2010, using its blog, Facebook page and customer database.

In February, WestJet was one of only two Canadian companies named a J.D. Power 2011 Customer Service Champion by the prestigious global marketing information services company, J.D. Power and Associates. This award was also based on customer opinions gathered in 2010.
