WestJet flying high again after computer glitches
Oct. 1, 2012, Calgary - WestJet Airlines Ltd. says operations are back to normal after computer troubles caused flights to be delayed and cancelled.
October 1, 2012 By The Canadian Press
The computer at WestJet's Calgary headquarters that generates flight plans stopped working properly for two hours on Sunday
afternoon.
Airline spokesman Robert Palmer says that meant WestJet staff had to generate the flight plans manually, which took longer.
As a result, five flights were cancelled Sunday and Monday, and 95 others were delayed.
Palmer says the system was back up and running Sunday night and the airline's IT team is looking into what caused the glitch.
