Winnipeg’s new terminal encountering turbulence
Nov. 25, 2011, Winnipeg - Winnipeg's new airport terminal is encountering turbulence flowing from an escalating legal battle over project cost overruns and construction delays.

Ellice-Don Corp., the general contractor for the $585-million development, has filed a civil suit against the Winnipeg Airports Authority.
The company alleges negligent misrepresentation in some of the authority's tendering documents.
The authority says it will be filing a statement of defence and a countersuit against Ellis-Don, but details of its court action have not been released.
The authority lost an arbitration case earlier this year that was sparked by another legal battle with the contractor over project cost overruns — a process which Ellis-Don says could take two more years to work out.
The new terminal officially opened last month and has been touted as the greenest of its kind in Canada and one of the most energy-efficient buildings of its size in the world.
