Const. Jocelyn Noseworthy says it's unclear what happened to the 46-year-old man who was travelling from Paris to the southern United States aboard a Delta Air Lines flight.

Noseworthy says passengers and crew provided the man with emergency care, including CPR, for about two hours before the aircraft touched down at the Stephenville airport around 4:15 p.m.

The man was rushed to hospital in Stephenville and later transferred to Corner Brook where he was listed in critical condition.

The aircraft was able to continue to its destination in Georgia.
