King elected chair of Vancouver Airport Authority

Annalisa King has been elected as chair of the Vancouver Airport Authority’s board of directors and will succeed Mary Jordan at the end of her term. Jordon has guided the Vancouver Airport Authority since 2010, a period in which Vancouver International Airport (YVR) underwent substantial growth.

“I am thrilled to announce that Annalisa King, a renowned business executive and leader, is lending her expertise and passion to our organization,” said Craig Richmond, President & CEO of Vancouver Airport Authority.

Annalisa is the perfect fit for the role.”

The Vancouver Airport Authority explains King brings a strong background in strategic planning, corporate finance and business transformation to YVR, with a career that spans more than 25 years; and includes a range of C-Suite and senior-level positions for some of Canada’s most well-known brands.

She previously served as chief financial officer and chief information officer of Best Buy Canada Ltd., senior vice president of business transformation for Maple Leaf Foods and director of finance for Kraft and Pillsbury Canada. King has extensive governance experience including her previous role as chair of Vancouver Airport Authority’s Governance Committee, explains the airport authority, and her current roles on the boards of Saputo Inc., First Capital Realty (where she is incoming chair of the Governance Committee) and the North West Company.

King has been inducted into Canada’s Most Powerful Women, Top 100 Hall of Fame, and she was recognized as BC’s CFO of the Year in 2012. In 2019, King received a Peak Award honouring Women in Finance for her significant board contribution.

YVR is described as Canada’s second busiest airport, having served 25.9 million passengers in 2018. Fifty-six airlines serve YVR, connecting to more than 125 non-stop destinations worldwide.
