"We look forward to welcoming the customers and talented team of employees from Arctic Sunwest Charters to the Ledcor Group of Companies" said Paul McElligott, President of both Ledcor Air Limited and Summit Air Charters. He went on to say "The acquisition of Arctic Sunwest Charters provides us immediate entry into airline operations with larger aircraft and infrastructure. This will enable us to offer an improved range of aviation services to a broader customer base."

Ledcor currently owns and operates Summit Air Charters, which is based in Yellowknife.  Summit Air has been providing specialized remote passenger and cargo air services on a charter basis in the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Nunavut for over 20 years.

The combined composition of the two fleets, the northern operational experience, and additional facilities will offer customers a wider range of flight options and better access to remote locations.

Arctic Sunwest Charters has been owned by RTL-Westcan since its inception in 1993. "We are enthusiastic to see these two exceptional aviation companies coming together," said Tom Kenny, CEO of the RTL-Westcan Group of Companies.  "Ledcor's aviation operations and Arctic Sunwest Charters bring with them a legacy of success. In combination they will prove to enhance Canada's northern community's air service requirements."
