"The deployment of our retail technology platform onboard Garuda Indonesia demonstrates our continued success in growing our Asia-Pacific footprint, and the adoption of our technology by carriers in that region. We are also growing GuestLogix' revenue by moving through our existing deployment backlog as the signed customers go live," said Tom Douramakos, President and CEO of GuestLogix.

Power Onboard Sales Opportunities

Beginning today, GuestLogix' onboard solution will support the expansion of Garuda Indonesia's new duty-free program. Garuda Indonesia, the leading Indonesian airline that carries nearly 11 million passengers annually to over 50 destinations in 21 countries, is now able to offer passengers traveling on more than 100 of the airline's domestic and international flights the opportunity to purchase a variety products and services not previously available onboard including fragrances, clothing, travel essentials, gifts, confectionery, liquor, cigarettes and other Garuda Indonesia exclusives.

GuestLogix' onboard retail technology platform will help Garuda broaden its domestic and international appeal by offering passengers products beyond traditional duty-free categories, which can lead to improved customer loyalty and greater satisfaction.

"Garuda Indonesia is set to improve service to passengers while providing a more convenient passenger experience," said Mrs. Grace Purukan, Vice President Passenger Service, Garuda Indonesia. "Through GuestLogix' onboard retail technology, Garuda Indonesia can seamlessly manage onboard sales for its duty-free inventory," Mrs. Parukan added. "Additionally, Garuda Indonesia can now easily accommodate travelers' diverse needs through a scalable platform that allows for future expansion with secure payment options."

Secure Payment Processing and Business Intelligence

GuestLogix has equipped the global carrier with handheld devices that accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express, in addition to cash. The easy-to-use graphical interface on the devices streamlines transaction processing for flight attendants, for example by simplifying currency exchange calculations, while facilitating sales of higher priced items and higher average transaction values. The retail technology platform also reduces paperwork and minimizes the risk of shrinkage and credit card fraud through anti-fraud "hotlists" produced by GuestLogix. Garuda Indonesia can also access transaction information through GuestLogix' back office platform, which provides business intelligence and analysis of onboard sales categorized by flight or route, on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.

"GuestLogix' retail technology platform allows Rodamas to offer an exemplary grouping of duty-free products," added Parlind Hutagalung, General Manager, Rodamas Group. "Garuda Indonesia, in partnership with Rodamas and GuestLogix, will provide exceptional customer support and advanced payment processing, which in turn will allow us to consider more tailored onboard products and services."
